SG/SF Front seat swap to 06/07 WRX cloth or leather
Not Sure if this will help anyone or not but thought I would put it down
Tools needed
10mm spanner
14mm socket
Ratchet
Small flat blade screwdriver
First I would recommend you disconnect your negative battery terminal.
You are dealing with airbags, the chances are slim but why risk it
Once you have done that take your 14mm and undo the front seat bolts, it helps if you slide the seat all the way back.
Push the seat all the way forward to gain access to the rear bolts
The rear bolts are covered so you will have to remove the plastic covers, the larger one will have a tab pushed into the rail so don’t go ripping it off. You need to reach around and pinch the tabs together and push.
14mm bolts either side
Once that’s done tilt the seat back and if you are doing the drivers seat first you will see two plugs.
There is a plug for the seatbelt alarm and the airbag plug ( yellow )
I found it easier to dismount the plugs before trying to disconnect them. Thats were the small flat blade helps. The seat belt plug will slide off its mount.
The airbag will have those tabs that need to be pressed together.
The seatbelt plug is straight forward, plush the tab down and pull apart.
The airbag is a little more tricky, you need to slide the green tab back ALL THE WAY and then you can press in locking tab that holds the plugs together. It is not always easy and sometimes frustrating.
Thats why I suggest to dismount it.
The passenger seat is the same process although it does not have the seatbelt plug.
Once you have both seats out you will need to change over your seatbelt thingies.
These are 14mm as well. The drivers unit will have the wire attached and a plug that you will need to work out between the seat and rail, it is doable just be patient.
Once you have the seat back in the car attach plugs before you bolt them in and also attach them back to there mounts. I used the seat recline to help sit it at the right angle so you don have to hold the seat and rest it on the back seat.
The front bolts are straight forward, the rear bolts are different, the fatter looking ones go into the tunnel on the inside, the outside ones have the unthreaded start.
The forester bolt covers do not fit so make sure you get the WRX ones.
Make sure all bolts are tight before you clip bolt covers on
Reconnect battery, happy days
